It all starts with the Free Float Module — the advanced suspension design at the heart of the Apogee One. Precision machined in the U.S. by select partners, including our co-founder’s shop, Huston Precision, the FFM sets the foundation for its performance.

DuoFrame Fabrication
To fabricate the Apogee DuoFrame front and rear triangle, we partnered with RatKing Frames in Seattle, WA. Their passion for precision and collaboration bring an unmatched level of craft to the steel components of the Apogee One.
Forged in Collaboration
Meet Smith, RatKing’s founder and chief fabricator located within the San Juan Islands. The Apogee One requires a unique approach including the use of our proprietary welding fixtures to ensure precision and a harmonious and exact alignment of the FFM and DuoFrame. Smith’s dedication to precision and close proximity to the Apogee One’s designer, Will Hilgenberg, make for the ideal collaborative relationship to deliver riders the highest quality DuoFrame.
Powder Coating with Stunt Doubles
Also in Seattle, we partner with Stunt Doubles on the final finish of each DuoFrame, which gets a durable powder coat and detailed graphics. Look closely at the Apogee One and you’ll notice the small, sharp typography. Together, we’ve developed a process that enables the same level of graphics precision that we bring to every FFM and DuoFrame.
The Design Garage
This little garage Seattle, WA is where the very first Apogee One DuoFrame prototype was designed and welded! Will, Apogee Co-Founder and chief designer, has an array of awesome gear at his disposal to prototype and experiment including 3D printers, a manual mill, lathe, and of course welding kit, which has enabled us to quickly build prototypes throughout the Apogee One's development.
